Payload Design
Stone Aerospace, developers of the Endurance Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle (AUV), recently completed the design of a scientific payload to
explore and take oceanographic data under the ice cap of a lake in
Antarctica. DeepSoft, LLC. was selected by Stone Aerospace to assist them by
converting their new scientific payload design from AutoCAD to SolidWorks.

model.
01/16/2008 - NAFEMS Webinar on Using FEA with Pressure Vessel Design
Codes
The principal attended this online seminar which was sponsored by NAFEMS
and originated at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The
topic was how Design by Analysis (DBA) using FEA codes, commercial or
otherwise, enhances or complicates the use of the ASME or European pressure
vessel codes. These design codes normally concern the design of boiler
pressure vessels. DeepSoft, LLC. has extensive experience designing ocean
engineering pressure vessels for instrumentation and related equipment that
requires pressure resistant housings. We have also worked on pressure
compensated vessels for deep submergence applications.

formats.
11/30/2007 - Complete Footprint Creator program for Toll Brothers &
Eastern States Engineering
Footprint Creator is a custom ObjectARX C++ program that runs in AutoCAD
or Land Desktop to do complex database manipulations. The user selects a
geographic region, house model, house elevation, and options; then it
creates a unique footprint around the base house and all options. This
program deals with hundreds of house models, dozens of elevations, and
hundreds of options. This, and other projects for Toll Brothers, was a multi-year part-time effort.
Footprint Creator was built with Microsoft's Visual C++ and Autodesk's
ObjectARX C++ API.
05/30/2007 - Complete Structural, Thermal Stress and Buckling Analysis of a Wet
Electrostatic Precipitator
DeepSoft, LLC. completed this project for TurboSonic, Inc., it consisted
of nine engineering FEA analyses and reports. Wet Electrostatic
Precipitators (WESP) are used to strip particulate matter from smokestack
exhaust. Analyses included linear static stress, steady state heat transfer,
thermal stress, and buckling. The initial geometry was created by the client
with SolidWorks. For this job the FEA 3D model geometry had to be recreated
as 3D plate elements in Femap and the FEA was performed with Nastran.
Mathcad was used to automate extensive computation of convection and fluid
dynamic properties of air for both internal forced convection flow and
external natural convection flow in and around the WESP tube bundle. These
analyses were completed accurately, on time, and within budget. The scope of
this project grew per the clients request for additional services.

Electrostatic Precipitator
DeepSoft, LLC. has been selected by TurboSonic, Inc., to perform a FEA of
their Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP). Wet Electrostatic Precipitators
are used to strip particulate matter from smokestack exhaust. This analysis

transfer FEA, and thermal stress analyses with Nastran.
10/03/2006 - Dynamic Structural Analysis of a Tow Bar for a US Army
Trailer
DeepSoft, LLC. has been selected by DHS Systems, LLC, to perform a FEA of

the Tow Bar plus a dynamic impact analysis. DHS provided the original 3D
solid model geometry as a Parasolid 3D model. This was imported into Femap
and the analyses were performed with the Nastran FEA code. These analyses
were completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
